Guardamar markets: which day, what time, and where
Guardamar has three markets running and one that no longer exists — and that last part is the bit nobody tells you. Days, times and addresses below, with the sources at the bottom so you can check them yourself.

Which day is the market in Guardamar? And is there one today?
- Sunday: the Lemon Tree Market, 8am–3pm — the big one.
- Wednesday: the town market, 8am–2pm — the local one.
- Summer evenings: the craft market on the seafront.
- Friday: nothing in Guardamar, but Los Montesinos is 15 minutes away.
The three that are still running
Lemon Tree Market (El Campico)
8am – 3pmThe big one, by a mile: around 500 stalls on the edge of town. Seasonal fruit and veg, clothes, shoes, household bits, and a food court that is half the reason people come — a full English through to paella, Thai and Venezuelan empanadas. If someone tells you to go to the Lemon Tree Market, this is it; on Spanish signs and maps it is El Campico.
Most stalls do not take cards and there is no cashpoint inside. Bring cash, and go early — after eleven the parking and the heat are both against you.
Town market (mercadillo municipal)
8am – 2pmThe proper local one. Smaller and far less touristy than Sunday: the weekly shop, fruit and veg, clothes and homeware. If you live here this is the useful one; if you are over for a week, Sunday is the one worth planning around.
Craft market
15 June – 15 September, 7pm – 2amAn evening market along the seafront promenade — crafts and gifts rather than the weekly shop. Over Easter it runs 5.30pm to 1am, and most weekends through the rest of the year from 10am to 10pm.
This is an after-dinner stroll, not a morning out. In August it is still busy at eleven at night.
The Moncayo car boot sale has closed
If you came looking for the Moncayo market, the car boot sale or second-hand in Guardamar, this is the bit that saves you the drive: the Moncayo second-hand market — Saturdays, at Partida el Aljibe, around 80 stalls — has closed permanently and no longer runs.
It still shows up in videos, in old listings and in advice from a few years back, which is why people turn up on a Saturday and find an empty plot.
If it is the rummaging you are after — second-hand, antiques, odd finds — rather than the weekly shop, the nearest thing is inside the Lemon Tree Market itself: there are antique and second-hand stalls among the rest, though it is not a car boot sale as such and it is not the same every Sunday.

Los Montesinos market
3pm – 8pmAround 50 stalls: fruit and veg, clothes, cured meats, sweets, olives and pickles, shoes. It runs in the afternoon rather than the morning, which makes it the obvious fallback once you have missed Wednesday.
The practical bit, in four lines
- Cash. Most stalls do not take cards, and there is no cashpoint on site.
- Early. Between 8 and 10 you can park and walk about. After that, neither.
- Haggle, but read the room. Normal on clothes and bric-a-brac. Not on fruit and veg.
- Ring ahead if you are making a trip of it. Public holidays and bad weather move the days, and no guide — this one included — finds out in time.
